Jerry F. JohnsJerry Johns is President of Southwestern Insurance Information Service and has been for more than 20 years. He is responsible for insurance industry's public affairs and media relations programs for insurers writing in excess of 85 percent of the property and casualty premiums in Texas and Oklahoma.

Mr. Johns supervises the development and implementation of broad-based and multi-dimensional media and consumer communications programs which provide factual information in connection with a wide range of safety initiatives as well as legislative and regulatory issues.

He serves of the Board of Directors of the Texas Action Council on Theft and is Co-Chairman of the Communications and Technology Committee of the Texas Natural Disaster Coalition.

A graduate of Central State University, Mr. Johns is the recipient of the First Place Bronze Derrick Award and the Second Place Distinguished Performance Award from the Oklahoma City Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, listed in Who's Who in the South and Southwest and selected Man of the Year by the Missouri Insurance Council.

Sandra E. Helin

Sandra E. HelinSandra Helin is the Public Affairs Director for Southwestern Insurance Information Service (SIIS) and is the Project Director for the Texas Action Council on Theft (TACT).

As Public Affairs Director for SIIS, Ms. Helin is responsible for providing information to the public and the media on insurance issues. She is also responsible for the implementation of educational public policy forums on a variety of insurance industry issues. Her ongoing work includes media relations, public information, research and creation of SIIS fact sheets for the insurance industry and consumers in Texas and Oklahoma .

After completing her studies in Advertising and Public Relations from Florida State University , Ms. Helin was trained in an intensive program as Communications Director for National Congressional Campaigns in Washington, D.C. She also worked in advertising sales and advertising production for NBC and ABC affiliates in Tallahassee, Florida.

As Project Director for TACT, an anti-theft coalition of insurers working with over 500 law enforcement agencies in Texas, Ms. Helin works with law enforcement officials, local interest groups and the media to educate the public and distribute relevant information on theft prevention issues.

She serves on the Insurance Fraud Advisory Committee of the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention Authority and is Co-Chair of the Communications and Technology Committee of the Texas State Disaster Coalition. Ms. Helin also serves as Vice-Chair of the Northwest Austin Chamber of Commerce.

She was recently awarded the 2006 Silver Spur Award, the highest honor from the Texas Public Relations Association for the partnership campaign "Turn Around Don't Drown."
