Sandra E. Helin
Sandra Helin is the President of Southwestern Insurance Information Service (SIIS) and is the Project Director for the Texas Action Council on Theft (TACT). She was formerly Public Affairs Director at SIIS for over 13 years.
As President of SIIS, Ms. Helin is responsible for managing the daily operations of SIIS and assuring that the mission of SIIS is continually cultivated and enhanced by herself and SIIS Staff.
She is dedicated to providing consistent value to SIIS membership in all aspects of education, media relations, public information and research on issues pertaining to the insurance industry and consumers in Texas and Oklahoma.
During her 26-year professional career Ms. Helin woked as Communications Director for National Congressional Campaigns in Washington, D.C. and worked in advertising sales and media production for NBC and ABC affiliates in Tallahassee, Florida.
As Project Director for TACT, an anti-theft coalition of insurers working with over 500 law enforcement agencies in Texas, Ms. Helin works with law enforcement officials, local interest groups and the media to educate the public and distribute relevant information on theft prevention issues.
She is Co-Chair of the Communications and Technology Committee of the Texas State Disaster Coalition.
She was awarded the 2006 Silver Spur Award, the highest honor from the Texas Public Relations Association for the partnership campaign "Turn Around Don't Drown."
